Pictures of Togiak in 1968
In 1964 my parents, Bob and Patsy Ross decided to take jobs in Alaska teaching in small villages. The family, Scott, Barb, Rick and Mike and a ton of luggage were all packed up and flown to the first school in Togiak. As the folks from Togiak know, it's a village north of Dillingham in Bristol Bay. I can't say much about the place now, it's been a while since I was there and being 10 at the time, some of the details are a bit fuzzy. I do remember the mud flats, extending hundreds of feet from shore, I remember feeling totally out of place, and the flood. An exciting first year in Alaska by Scott Ross.
